Hockaday offers a dynamic and balanced academic program in a student-centered learning environment. Learning takes place in and out of the classroom where lively exchanges among students and teachers occur on a daily basis.

From the primary grades through senior year, the curriculum is rich in depth and variety. There are classes in English, language arts, mathematics, foreign language, history/social studies, the sciences, performing and visual arts, physical education and technology.

In many cases, teachers use an interdisciplinary and integrated approach through classroom instruction, class trips, guest speakers and activities. Explore this area to learn more about each division’s curriculum, clubs and activities, faculty and events that create the Hockaday experience.

Recognizing that each child is a unique human being with individual needs and interests, the Lower School strives to help each girl develop her potential by providing programs designed to fit her own style of learning.
The Middle School curriculum reaches for a balance academically, socially, physically, and morally and is based on the wide variety of developmental changes found in our students between grades five and eight.
At Hockaday we seek to develop young women who can help initiate and guide the direction of our rapidly changing society rather than merely respond to changes set forth by others.
