Exploration is really the essence of the human spirit.
– Frank Borman
Many paths are explored throughout the course of a lifetime. One path may be the most important one you ever take, and another might be one small part of a full and rewarding life. The 2017 Hockaday Parents’ Association Benefit, “EXPLORE – It Starts Here,” celebrates the myriad of exploration opportunities Hockaday provides our daughters; salutes our faculty for their commitment to challenging and inspiring our girls to grow and discover; and honors Eugene McDermott Headmistress Liza Lee for her extraordinary tenure at The Hockaday School.
Proceeds from The Hockaday Parents’ Association Benefit are invested in The Ela Hockaday Fund for Faculty Excellence, which provides professional development and graduate study opportunities for our faculty. Providing faculty support is Hockaday’s most significant fundraising priority because excellent teachers enrich our girls’ education and bring a freshness and vitality that is particularly engaging to the young women of Hockaday. The Ela Hockaday Fund was established in 2008. Recent Benefits have raised over $3 million collectively for The Ela Hockaday Fund.
