How to Apply

  • 1. Complete Part I of the online application

    Part I is the Online Application Form and includes the following:
    • Biographical information
    • Parent Questionnaire
    • Application Fee $100
    • Teacher Information Request Form (Please provide your daughter's current teacher's name and email address). Hockaday will send an online confidential Teacher Evaluation to your daughter's current teacher.
    • A copy of your daughter's birth certificate (A copy submitted directly to the Office of Admission (admission@hockaday.org).
  • 2. Schedule Testing Dates.

    Testing spaces are limited, so please return the application and Test Registration Form as quickly as possible. You will be notified by mail to confirm your scheduled testing date. Testing for all applicants is done in two testing sessions. Test I is administered individually by Collaborative Academic Testing Services (CATS), and test results are shared with other schools where the student is applying. Test II is taken in a Saturday group setting at Hockaday on either January 7 or January 21, 2017.
  • 3. Schedule Parent Interviews.

    After receiving your application, the Office of Admission will notify you by mail of your interview appointment.
  • 5. Return Teacher Evaluations.

    Please provide your daughter's current teacher's name and email address on the Teacher Information Form.  Hockaday will use this information to send an online confidential Teacher Evaluation to your daughter's current teacher.
  • 6. Submit School Records Form.

    Give the School Records Release Form to an official at the applicant's current school. The registrar then submits the student's records directly to Hockaday. The records should be received by the Office of Admission by January 27, 2017.
  • 7. Schedule a Visit to Hockaday.

    We invite you to schedule a time to visit the school during an Admission Preview and/or a Parent Visitation Day. (You may RSVP online.) If you are unable to attend one of these events and you live outside of the Dallas Metroplex, please call the Office of Admission and we will try to arrange another opportunity for you to visit the school.

Application Deadline

Before submitting an application for Prekindergarten - Fourth Grade, please contact Clewis@hockaday.org. Admission decision notifications will be emailed on March 10, 2017 to all applicants who have completed their applications by January 27, 2017.
