Alumnae

Volunteer Information

Are you looking for ways to get involved at Hockaday? Volunteering with the Alumnae Association offers countless opportunities for you to participate at the School and in the Dallas community with your classmates and friends.

Net Pals

The Net Pals program connects Hockaday alumnae with current Form II students via email. Alumnae serve as mentors by offering insights and advice about their careers, college and life after Hockaday.

The Net Pals program is a way for busy or out-of-town alumnae to volunteer. As one Form II student and Net Pals participant said, "I really enjoyed this program and my Net Pal was really helpful. I was paired with someone who went to the university I was interested in and who had the same major I was considering. She really gave me some wonderful insights into university life and we still keep in touch to this day!"

Daisy Chain

In an effort to help Hockaday’s most recent graduates settle into their new communities, the Alumnae Association established a program called "Daisy Chain." It is a network of former students who welcome the most recent Hockaday graduates attending college in or near their area, and they lend a helping hand when needed.

Volunteers in the Daisy Chain program serve as a personal welcoming committee by providing information when the student needs a recommendation for a dentist, doctor, tailor, mechanic, or just a place for good food. Volunteers are encouraged to meet their college student face-to-face in order to make the student feel more comfortable and at ease.  Lasting relationships between alumnae have been forged as a result of their connection through the Daisy Chain program.

If you would like to volunteer to participate in the Daisy Chain program, please contact the Alumnae Office.
