Hockaday Loses a Fine Arts Icon 11/11/2009 Former Hockaday faculty member Tom Merriman passed away Wednesday, November 11. Mr. Merriman was known in the Fine Arts department as the “entrepreneur that brought the musical to Hockaday,” making Hockaday the first school in the Southwest to do a full-book show.

Former Headmistress Left A Legacy 10/29/2009 Former Hockaday headmistress and teacher Idanelle McMurry passed away early this morning at her home in Tennessee. During her years at Hockaday, Ms. McMurry served as chief executive officer, fund raiser, financial contributor, visionary, curriculum expert, teacher, community liaison, student advisor and friend.
