During her Upper School years, each student takes this interdisciplinary course that is designed to enrich her historical understanding and cultural awareness by providing aesthetic and intellectual complements to her earlier work in World History. This experience is intended to promote a lasting affection for works of art and music, a comprehension of their structural elements, an empathy for the artistic process, and a sense of the important role that artistic creations occupy as exemplars of civilization and the strivings of humankind. Students complete the course with a set of more discerning eyes and ears and an expanded context for their hands-on arts endeavors.
