Day in the Life

School Day

The school day begins at 8:00 am for eighth grade residents and 8:30 am for Upper School residents.  A full breakfast is served each morning in the dining room and hall kitchens are stocked with quick breakfast items for those who want to eat and run.

After School

The school day ends at 3:15 for Middle School and 4:00 pm for Upper School. Life after school is really not too different from most day students. From 4:00 – 6:00pm, residents check in with Dorm Parents, and head to an athletic, performing arts practice, or community service project. Some have free time to do laundry, hang with friends at a local restaurant or coffee shop, watch television, practice music, or work with a tutor. Then it's time for dinner.
Afterwards, from 8:00 – 10:00 pm, students in Grades 8 through 11 have a required study hall. Underclassman go the Library, and senior residents have the privilege of studying in their rooms.
From 10:00 –11:00 pm, residents visit friends on other halls, take showers, watch television, hang out, or Skype friends amd family. It might be a little more structured; but basically, it's pretty much like home.

There are a lot of activities from which to choose on the weekends - from festivals, to concerts, cultural and athletic events and more.  The Residence Life Program is committed to providing opportunities for both on and off campus activities and events.
