Students can take either the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) or the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Visit www.ssat.org to register for the SSAT. Please call 1-800-446-0320 for ISEE information and registration or register online at www.iseetest.org. For all applicants for whom English is their second language, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required in addition to the SSAT or the ISEE. For Grade 8 only, the TOEFL Junior can be a substitute for the TOEFL. For more information, please visit www.ets.org.
If applying online, enter the teacher's email addresses when prompted and The Office of Admission will send the evaluations directly to the teachers. If using a hardcopy application, sign the evaluation forms and then give them to the applicant's current English and Math teachers. Ask that the forms be completed and returned directly to the Office of Admission.
Give the Transcript Release Form to an official at the applicant's current school. The registrar then submits the student's transcript directly to Hockaday. The official transcript should be returned by January 29, 2016.
Call the Office of Admission to schedule a visit to Hockaday. Prospective Residence students are welcome to spend the night at Hockaday and attend classes the following day. Please contact Molly Averitt at firstname.lastname@example.org or 214-360-6522 to schedule a student visit.
The Standard Application Online (SAO) is a standard online application supported by SSATB (Secondary School Admission Test Board). The Standard Application Online may be used if applying to more than one participating school. Click here to use the SAO.
