How to Apply

  • 1. Complete Part I of the online application

    Part I of the online application includes Biographical Information, Parent Questionnaire and Student Questionnaire, application fee and a copy of the applicant's birth certificate.  Please click here to start the online application.

    It is preferable for applicants to complete the online application, but all applicaton forms can be found in the right hand column.
  • 2. Schedule ISEE testing date.

    Hockaday uses the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE).  The student may register directly with ISEE.  Please include the test fee of $105 with that registration. For ISEE information and registration, please call 1-800-446-0320 or register online at www.iseetest.org. She may take the ISEE at a Prometric Center if the scheduled testing dates do not work with her schedule.  

    The ISEE will be offered at Hockaday on January 6, 2018 and January 20, 2018.
  • 3. Schedule the student interview and optional shadow day visit.

    Please visit this page to view the available shadow dates.  While on campus that day, her interview can be completed.  Please note the interview is required and the shadow visit is optional. We do require an application before the student visits campus. If the applicant lives outside of Dallas and is not able to visit the campus, the Office of Admission will arrange a Skype interview. 

    Boarding applicants should contact Molly Averitt in the Office of Admission to arrange both a parent and a student interview.
  • 4. Teacher Evaluations and Head of School Evaluation due January 26, 2018.

    When submitting your online application, please include email addresses for your daughters' Math teacher, English teacher and Head of School. The confidential Evaluation Forms will be sent to the teachers electronically.

    It is preferable the applicant submit teacher and Head of School email addresses on the online application, however, there is a downloadable form on the right hand column of this page.
  • 5. Submit Transcript Release Form to your daughter's current school.

    Hockaday requires transcripts from the current year and the last two years. Sign and give the Transcript Release Form to an official at the applicant's current school. The registrar should then submit the student's transcripts directly to Hockaday by January 26, 2018.
  • 6. We invite you and your family to attend one of our Admission Events.

    We invite you and your family to join us on campus at one of our upcoming events. (You may RSVP online.)  If you are unable to attend one of these events and you live outside the Dallas Metroplex, please call the Office of Admission to arrange another opportunity to visit the school.

Application Deadline

Admission decision notifications will be emailed on March 10, 2017 to all applicants who have completed their applications by January 27, 2017.
