Aurelia Han Receives NFPW's 2018 Award of Excellence

Senior Aurelia Han received the National Federation of Press Women High School Communications Award of Excellence. This award honors the high school student who submits the entry chosen by a small group of judges as overall best among the national first-place winners. Aurelia's piece won first place out of more than 1,500 entries that started this year's competition at the state level. From there, 156 captured first place and went on to the national level of judging. And then, 23 national first-place entries were judged for this final round, and Aurelia's piece received first place!

 

At the state level, The Fourcast's staff received the following first places which went on to the national competition:

 

Aurelia Han - Single Page Layout (received first place in the nation and also the NFPW Communications Award of Excellence)

Brenda Lee - Graphics/Photo Illustration (received second place in the nation)

Mary Orsak - Editorial (received third place in the nation)

Mary Orsak - Review (Received HM in the nation)

Ali Hurst - Opinion (Received HM in the nation)

Emily Fuller and Aurelia Han - Double Truck Layout (Received HM in the nation)
