ISAS 2019

This year the ISAS ARTS Festival is being hosted by St. Stephen’s School in Austin, Texas. The dates are April 11-13, 2019. The deadline for registration is this Friday, February 22. Students eligible for attending the festival received an email with instructions and a link to the registration website.

In order to ensure the safety of all students and the quality of the experience, the ISAS steering committee is instituting a cap on the number of students attending from each school. The Hockaday Fine Arts Department has rotated the four Upper School disciplines which participate in the festival since 2012 in accordance to these guidelines. This rotation system allows each of the Hockaday Fine Arts disciplines to maximize the number of students they can bring. Rotating the four art forms on a four-year cycle means that each student, depending on her art form, has the possibility of participating in up to three festivals during her high school career. Theater, Dance, Orchestra, and Choir will attend the 2019 St. Stephen’s School festival. The Visual Arts discipline will not attend the festival.

Students should NOT schedule anything during the weekend of the festival, including the SAT and ACT. Alternate testing dates are available for both exams. If your student has testing accommodations they should contact Mrs. Cave, who is aware of this issue. Any conflicts with the ISAS weekend should be addressed as soon as possible. For safety and security purposes, students must travel to and from the festival with the group and remain for its entirety.
