An Afternoon for the College Bound Artist

Saturday, September 7, 1:00 – 4:30 pm
The Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger Family Theater

This program is co-hosted by Hockaday’s Visual and Performing Arts Department and College Counseling, and is designed for students who are considering pursuing the arts in college as either a major or a minor. The program will begin with a panel discussion for students and parents that will include faculty and admission professionals from several area colleges and universities. Following the panel, students will have the opportunity to attend two one-hour workshops that will assist them with selecting and preparing audition pieces for acting, dance and voice; preparing a portfolio for theater design and/or visual art; designing a creative arts resume; developing an artist statement for visual arts portfolios; and more. More than 10 professors, directors, choreographers, and artists from TCU, SMU, UNT, the Dallas Theater Center, SCAD, and the University of Dallas will be leading workshops. Register here to attend.
