Junior Kemper Lowry Receives Vogel Alcove Award

Kemper Lowry (Class of 2021) received a "Kids Helping Kids Award" from Vogel Alcove at their annual awards dinner for the work she did with them last summer. Vogel Alcove is a non-profit organization on a mission to help young children overcome the lasting and traumatic effects of homelessness. Kemper worked more than 200 hours as an intern working on fundraising and marketing campaigns, as well as leading tours and writing articles for the Vogel Alcove blog. She also worked directly with young children as a Teacher’s Assistant. Kemper notes “to view firsthand the change Vogel affects in these families' lives gave me a fuller understanding of the homeless crisis in Dallas and a deep appreciation for the steps social workers take to combat it.”
