Hockaday Students and Recent Alumnae Launch Serve Our Heroes

Nancy Dedman (Class of 2021), Celese Gierhart (Class of 2020), Morgan Lutz '19, and Catherine Dedman '19 recently launched Serve our Heroes, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, intended to feed frontline staff at Dallas area Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers and support the local food and beverage industry by working with local restaurant branches to bring warm meals to VA employees. All proceeds donated to Serve Our Heroes go directly to daily meal delivery from partner restaurants to the Dallas VA Medical Center in South Dallas, and they will also deliver to the upcoming VA health care facility in Garland once it opens. Partner restaurants include DIVE Coastal Cuisine, Bandito’s Tex Mex Cantina, Wendy Krispin Catering, Katy Trail Ice House, Cassandra Fine Catering, Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Potbelly Sandwich Shop.
