It is with great excitement that we announce Middle School Science Teacher Jennifer Stimpson has been named an Einstein Fellow by the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science. Next year, she will have the unique opportunity to serve in the national education arena for 12 months in Washington, D.C. working in U.S. Congressional offices, and will contribute her extensive knowledge and classroom experiences to the national education programs and education policy efforts. At the conclusion of the fellowship, she will be part of a national network of educational leaders and programs who will have a deeper understanding of the challenges and possibilities in STEM education, and she will return to Hockaday ready to share her experiences and make significant contributions not only at Hockaday, but also at schools across the U.S. Ms. Stimpson will work with Congresswoman Alma Adams from North Carolina and will help develop her STEM Education policy for K-20 schools in her district and in North Carolina.
