Varsity Volleyball Wins SPC Championship

For the first time since 2008, Hockaday Volleyball won the SPC tournament, defeating Oakridge in the final 3-0. The Daisies didn’t lose a single game in the SPC tournament, beating John Cooper and Greenhill 3-0 and 3-0. 
 
Cross Country captured the runner-up spot at the SPC Championships. Margaret Thompson (Class of 2024) took the overall win with a time of 18:37 followed by Jordan Lacsamana (Class of 2025) taking fourth place with a time of 19:08, Leena Mehendale (Class of 2022) placed ninth with a time of 19:26, Gracie Little (Class of 2024) brought in 15th place racing to a time of 20:11, and Madalena Ritz-Meuret (Class 2025) closed out the top five scoring athletes with a 33rd place finish and a time of 21:22. The sixth finisher was Caroline Petrikas (Class of 2023) with a time of 22:22 and 54th place finish. Lola Isom (Class of 2023) finished 60th place with a time of 22:33, Brie Johnson (Class of 2023) was 72nd with a time of 23:17, and Cici Sprouse (Class of 2022) was 76th with a time of 23:35.

All-SPC Team included: All SPC Cross Country, Margaret Thompson, Jordan Lacsamana, Leena Mehendale and Gracie Little.

Field Hockey finished third in the SPC, following a thrilling quarterfinal win against St. Stephen’s followed by a semifinal loss to Kinkaid School. The team bounced back in the third place game, defeating Greenhill.
