Upper School Students Attend Marine Biological Lab

Nine Upper School students and four Hockaday teachers headed to Woods Hole, Massachusetts in March for a week at The Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL). 
 
Students included Hanna Asmerom (Class of 2024), Dixey Piper Auer (Class of 2024), Aria Bhatki (Class of 2024), Alia Chand (Class of 2023), Natalie Grove (Class of 2023), Emily Loftus (Class of 2023), Emmy Madden (Class of 2024), Emery Stehel (Class of 2024), and Tianxin Xie (Class of 2023). Faculty members were Dr. Barbara Fishel, Dean of Studies; Jessie Crowley, Upper School Science; Brandi Finazzo, Upper School Science; and Karen Roberts, Assistant Head of Lower School. MBL is dedicated to scientific discovery – exploring fundamental biology, understanding biodiversity and the environment, and informing the human condition through research and education. Founded in 1888, the MBL is a private, nonprofit institution and an affiliate of the University of Chicago.
