Seven Hockaday Students Win Spots at TPSMEA

Seven Upper School orchestra members won a playing position with the prestigious All-State Orchestra/Band 2016 through the Texas Private Schools Music Educators Association. This is the highest honor to achieve for orchestra/band members of TPSMEA each year. These talented musicians went through a rigorous audition process began in the fall; and on Saturday, January 30st, 2016, they presented a successful and most intriguing concert at the Eisemann Center in Richardson; under the baton of Dr. Clay Couturiaux, an acclaimed conductor of UNT and Richardson Symphony.

These students represent the finest private school musicians across the state of Texas. Among them, Vivian Zhou (class of 2016’) received 4-Year All-State Orchestra recognition during the concert.

Congratulations to the following students: Lin Lin Lee (Class of 2018), Sharon Zhang (Class of 2018), Jenny Zhu (Class of 2017), Tasneen Bashir (Class of 2017), Vivian Zhou (Class of 2016), Dana Choi (Class of 2018), and Jasmine Jin (Class of 2016).
