Hockaday Students Win at AFAF International Concerto Competition

Lily Zhou and Christina Yang received 2nd and 3rd place respectfully at the AFAF International Concerto Competition of 2017. As the result, they are invited to participate in a winner's recital at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall to perform a solo piece. They will also receive a scholarship towards summer music courses in Europe 2017 (Russia tour), perform a recital with the Kostroma Symphony Orchestra, and attend a master class with a member of the Moscow Conservatory faculty. Lily competed with the Chopin Piano Concerto in E minor, 1st movement, and Christina's was the Saint-Saens G minor Concerto, 1st movement. Congratulations to both girls for their achievements and the extraordinary musical and educational opportunities available to them.
