Adoette Vaughan, Form III Cross-Country Athlete, Places 11th in National Championship

Cross country athlete Adoette Vaughan placed 11th in the Foot Locker National Championship meet in a time of 18:02.2 over a tough 5 km course! This race was held December 9 at Balboa Park in San Diego, California. Adoette continued her Texas Cross Country dominance this season after her 1st place in the SPC Championship race for the 3rd straight year, by finishing in 9th place at the South Regional Foot Locker meet, qualifying her for the national championships. Going into the National Championship, she had a speed rating of 143, which ranked her 18th among the athletes competing. During the National Championship race, Adoette showed great drive and determination, where she covered the first mile in 22nd place, and continued to pass 11 girls to finish in 11th place! She improved to 2nd overall for the South Region from the regional performance.
