Auxiliary Programs

Auxiliary Programs at Hockaday offers enrichment services for Hockaday students and the greater Dallas community. Summer at Hockaday, FALL FUN, SPRING FUN, and the Private Music Lessons Programs extend academic and recreational opportunities to girls and boys to try new things, dive deeper into personal interests, and make new friends – all within a safe, secure, and nurturing environment.

Spring Fling Registration is Now Open

Spring Fling 2017, offered by Hockaday’s Auxiliary Programs, will launch on Saturday, February 18! Classes are led and taught by Summer at Hockaday teaching staff and are offered to boys and girls, ages 5 and up. Classes begin Saturday, February 18 and continue through Saturday, May 13. We’d love to have your child spend a Saturday morning with us! Register here.

Class Tuition: $40/class/week or $50/week for the combination of Biking and Minecraft

Register for one week or all 13 weeks – register and attend for classes that fit your family’s schedule. Classes take place at The Hockaday School on the Forest Lane side of campus. Biking and Minecraft teachers will be there to greet you. At the time of registration, you will receive an email with further details regarding drop-off, pick-up, and what to bring. 

Please note – your child does not have to be a student at The Hockaday School to participate.
Spring 2017 Class Descriptions

Beginning & Intermediate Biking 
9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
beginning March 25
Coach Stewart Ball and his staff of coaches have taught hundreds of children to ride a bike. Let us teach your child to ride in this great, low pressure, fun class!

Already a bike rider? Come join us as we emphasize how to safely handle a bike over various terrains, using the Hockaday campus. All bikers need a bike, helmet, and water bottle!

Minecraft U: Minecraft Builders
10:00 am. – 12:00 p.m.
beginning February 18

Minecraft Builders is the perfect entry into our Minecraft U for your young child. Boys & girls, ages 5-8, will learn the basics of Minecraft and strengthen skills by using the concept of building. The sky’s the limit in what we can build in Minecraft U, especially when working in collaboration with fellow Minecraft U students. All Minecraft U students need a login to

Minecraft U: Modders & Coders
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
beginning February 18
Minecraft Modders and Coders is for those who love the game of Minecraft and want to learn new mods and how to write commands for Minecraft robots. This is an exciting opportunity to develop super Minecraft skills and understand at a basic level how computer software is created. All Minecraft U students need a login to

Make it a COMBO! 
Attend BOTH classes from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
beginning March 25
Students will participate in Beginning & Intermediate Biking from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., and Minecraft U from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Teachers will manage the transitions for students participating in both classes.

Lower and Middle School students have the opportunity to stay after regular classes and participate in fun, enriching, super cool classes, such as cooking, photography, sewing, etc. in a safe and nurturing environment. Registrations are by semester and are open a few weeks prior to the start of the semester. Each of these programs can be paired with either Happy Haps in Lower School or Daisy Den for 5th and 6th grade Middle School students. Summer at Hockaday invites girls and boys, age 3 through entering 10th grade, to experience academics and fun in a nurturing environment. As a camper or student, you will have a great time making new friends while you participate in sports, the arts, technology, academics, and much more. Come learn from the best educators in the Dallas area. We have a camp or class just for you!
