We will stress a full service motion, overhead, and volley skills. You will also learn strategy of singles and doubles play. After assessing your playing level, you will practice with and challenge others of comparable skill. The ball machine will be available and in case of rain, indoor activities that can be applied to tennis will take place. Grab your racquet and get ready for some tennis fun!

  • Writing Institute

Writing modules will include a thematic approach to writing, drawing from a variety of sources, such as myths, poems, legends, and more. Short works will be analyzed to identify theme, structure, punctuation, diction, and figurative language. Going beyond analysis into creation, students will brainstorm and create original works. A variety of writing techniques will be utilized as students create scripts, news articles, book reviews, and more. Students will respond to pieces through prose and/or poetry and create an original piece for peer review. Through the use of art, poetry, literature, current events and more, students will review and strengthen writing processes and skills. While the themes for each grade level might be the same, the depth to which the course is taught will vary according to grade level to achieve grade-appropriate instruction and challenge. Students are encouraged to register for multiple sessions as instruction will be progressive in nature. Imagine what writing skills you will gain after spending up to six weeks in our Summer Writing Institute!
