  • What is the Diversity Career Fair? 

    The Diversity Career Fair is an event designed to share information and opportunities with diverse candidates interested in working at PK-12th Grade DFW independent and private schools. 
  • Who should attend? 

    Individuals from diverse backgrounds looking for teaching, administrative, or support roles in PK-12 independent and private schools. 
  • What can I expect at the fair? 

    • Opening Session: Attendees will check in and attend an opening session, where they will hear from diversity practitioners about working in independent schools. 
    • Networking Opportunities: Walk around and meet with hiring representatives from participating schools at their tables. 
    • Optional Workshop/Tour: Optional sessions on best practices for resume/cover letter writing and an opportunity to tour the campus of the Hockaday School. 
  • What will I learn?

  • What should I be prepared to talk about? 

    Attendees should be prepared to discuss their professional experience and any questions they may have about working in independent and private schools. Please note: this is not an interview.
  • What should I wear? 

    Business casual attire is suggested. Attendees are encouraged to wear what they feel comfortable in, keeping in mind that they will have opportunities to meet with employer representatives from participating schools. 
  • What if I do not have a resume? 

    A resume is not required for this event. However, if you would like to bring one, please do! Resume templates can be found online, with Google and Microsoft Word offering various choices.
