Dr. Heidi Crone joined the Hockaday Community in August. She is the Assistant Cross Country Coach, Middle School Soccer Coach, and Distance Track Coach in addition to her role as a Physical Education Teacher. Dr. Crone’s love of sports and her enthusiastic approach to everything she does provides a positive example for student-athletes to make the most of all life’s challenges and opportunities.
Dr. Crone earned a full-ride scholarship to the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) where she competed in cross country, tennis, and track and field. She continued her education at UCA receiving a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology. During that time she also served as the Athletic Department’s Graduate Assistant.
Her professional experience includes campus and municipal recreation. In 2014, Dr. Crone was named the Young Professional of the Year by the Texas Recreation and Park Society. She also taught and coached at Reedy High School and Pioneer Heritage Middle School in Frisco ISD.
As a lifelong learner, Dr. Crone enjoys the support and mentorship of fellow Hockaday coaches and eagerly contributes new ideas rooted in her diverse career experience and as a multi-sport collegiate athlete. Dr. Crone is excited to contribute to Hockaday’s outstanding culture and do everything she can to better the students she works with.
Dr. Crone loves to travel with her husband, Phil. They were married in 2018 and enjoy kayaking, running, and cycling around East Dallas and White Rock Lake.
