Shane is an Ackerman Award winner and holds a degree in business administration from Texas A & M University. He is married to seventh grade math teacher Terry Bourek. Together, they have two daughters both of whom are graduates of the Hockaday School. Kat Bourek ’13 and Sarah Bourek ’15.
When asked what he loves most about Hockaday, he says, “The beautifully well-kept grounds and facilities are outstanding at Hockaday, but what makes Hockaday a truly wonderful place is the people. The students are joyful, intellectually curious, and industrious. The parents are interested and supportive. The administration and other support staff do their jobs well. And, the outstanding faculty are caring, creative, and professional. All of these people along with Hockaday’s alumna and history create a spirit that is pervasive throughout the School.”
