Eighth Grade Musical – "The Wizard of Oz"

It’s show time for the eighth graders, our parent volunteers, and our incredibly gifted Fine Arts faculty!!!  As you are reading this, the entire Middle School should be enjoying the performance of this year’s eighth grade musical, The Wizard of Oz. It really is a fabulous show—we hope that many of you will be able to attend tomorrow, Friday, evening at 7:00 pm. You will leave amazed at the talents these girls have –whether creating sets or singing and dancing! Admission is free; there are no reserved seats (but ample seating), and the doors will open thirty minutes in advance of curtain time. Seats cannot be saved before the doors open. I extend my deepest appreciation to Donna Carlisle, our play mom, and our other parent volunteers for the tireless support they have shared with our eighth graders and our Fine Arts faculty—we can’t thank you enough! I don’t have enough words to thank Hockaday’s fabulous fine arts faculty and staff—Susan Hubbard, Beth Wortley, Bonnie Jean Coleman, Robert Kallos, Christie Sullivan, Bob Snook, and Stephen Hill. Their work providing these eighth graders with a transformational experience has been exceptional and quite magical!
