Hockaday vs ESD

In its last counter game of the season, the Hockaday Varsity field hockey team defeated ESD 2-1 in overtime. ESD scored with just under five minutes to play in the first half and held the lead through halftime. Hockaday tied the game up with a goal from Evan Johnston ten minutes into the second half. The defensive corner unit for Hockaday (Graydon Paul, Emilia Callahan, JoJo Gum, and Penelope Piccagli) held off 12 corners from ESD throughout the game. Neither team was able to connect for a goal in regulation, so overtime began. It was back and forth until Hockaday earned a corner with less than a minute left on the clock. Evan Johnston found the back of the goal for the second time in the game and also for the game winning score with 36 seconds left on the clock. She was assisted by JoJo Gum.
