Hockaday Athletics welcomed Coach Andy Gass in 2018 as Head Volleyball Coach. He has a solid background with more than 21 years in coaching volleyball in both club and private school venues. Since 2013, Coach Gass has been the club director and coach for the Summit-Nitro Volleyball Club. Prior to becoming the director, Coach Gass coached for the club from 2003–2013. He is also a Creative/Marketing Director of an Advertising Agency in North Dallas and a proud father of three. He is Impact/SafeSport certified and attended USAV CAP Level I in Bethany, Oklahoma, CAP Level II in St. Louis, Missouri and in 2004 traveled to Colorado Springs to train at the Olympic Training Center during CAP Level III. His article “Starting a Club: The Story Behind the Creation of Nitro” was published in Coaching Volleyball magazine in April 2007, recognizing all of the hard work it took in building Nitro. Prior to coaching at Hockaday I was the Varsity Assistant Coach at Parish Episcopal School from 2006-2010. In 2010, 2009, 2008 & 2007 Parish went to the final 4 of State and in 2008 they won the TAPPS 4A State Championship. In 2005 I was the Varsity Head Coach at Garland Christian Academy and the Varsity Assistant and the Head Junior Varsity Coach at Ursuline Academy in 2001 & 2002.
