Hockaday Theater Company Presents Eat (It’s Not About Food)

Hockaday Theater Company presents the fall play Eat (It’s Not About Food) by Playwright Linda Daughtery on Wednesday, November 13 at 4:30 pm, Thursday, November 14 at 2:40 pm and Friday, November 15, at 7:00 pm. All performances are in the Lacerte Family Black Box Theater (FA 245)

This touching play about eating disorders as observed in the real lives of teens is both probing and informative. Hockaday Theater Company students have researched the issues and give a poignant rendition of the multiple stories in the play.

Hockaday is partnering with The Texas Eating Disorders Project (formerly known as The Elisa Project). The project will be providing specific support materials and information aimed at students, faculty and parents. They will also be sending their professional staff to run a question and answer session in person immediately after each performance. There will be a resource table outside the black box theater, both before and after the shows, with printed materials and information for those who do not wish to ask questions in a public arena.

This show offers information as well as a helpful introduction to talking about these issues with young people. For more on our partner: http://texaseatingdisordersassociation.org/
