Help Build a Well in Kisumu, Kenya
As part of the Hockaday School’s Institute for Social Impact, blue hair ties will be sold by students in all three divisions. The goal of the sale is to raise awareness of the need for clean water and to raise funds to build a clean water well in Kisumu, Kenya, the same place where we send our old Hockaday uniforms. Each $2.00 hair tie will be labeled with the number of people living without clean water. Since their grade-level focus is helping the environment, second grade students will be selling hair ties to Lower School students on Friday, November 22 during all recess times. Middle and Upper School students will be selling them throughout the week. Lower School students may bring money to school on November 22 in a sealed plastic bag labeled with their name and homeroom. After November 22, the hair ties will be sold in Hockaday’s bookstore.
