Scott Bowman joined the Upper School faculty as a History teacher in the fall of 2020 and, as of the fall of 2021, serves as an Assistant Coach for the Rowing Team. Scott began his rowing career as a novice walk-on at Brown University. While at Brown, he won two bronze medals at the IRA National Championship Regatta. While in college, Scott also coached junior varsity basketball at an independent school. After graduating, Scott taught History and coached rowing at the Salisbury School in Salisbury, Connecticut. In the years that followed, Scott earned his J.D. from Fordham Law School and M.F.A. from Rutgers-Newark, practicing law and teaching in various settings. Just prior to joining the Hockaday faculty, Scott made a return to coaching, assisting with the Penn State Club Rowing team for a couple of months prior to their 2020 season being cut short. He is thrilled to now be part of Hockaday’s strong rowing program and to help student-athletes reach their full potential on and off the water.
