Lowering Anxiety in Dogs

As part of their Social Impact theme, “Animals,” First Graders visited Farmers Branch Animal Adoption Center to read to shelter animals. Data shows that if you read to dogs while they are in their kennel, their anxiety lowers and they are more adoptable! In a full circle moment, after her visits to the Center, Grace E. (Class of 2023) formed a bond with one of the dogs the girls read to, Milo, and adopted him!
