Library Curriculum Highlights

In Middle School, literacy remains the central focus of the library program. We continue to provide books, digital resources, and instruction to support student interest and inquiry through reading and research. Through our collaborations across content areas, we challenge students to seek diverse perspectives, gather and use information ethically, and share their learning through the responsible use of presentation and social tools.

In fifth grade, students were reacquainted with databases while preparing to investigate the ancient empires of sub-Saharan Africa. Armed with note-taking and paraphrasing reminders, seventh graders in Dance explored various choreographers and dance styles using curated databases and web resources. Eighth graders in English and History, respectively, have flexed their research muscles, highlighting the key contributions and figures of the Harlem Renaissance and Islamic Civilization.
