Middle School MathCounts Team Places Third

On Saturday, February 18, the Hockaday MathCounts team competed in the Dallas Chapter competition and placed third in a highly competitive field. 
 
Eighth Graders Leila Hulme, Christina Zhu, and Kaitlyn Ouyang qualified for the Countdown Round and quick-on-the-buzzer Leila Hulme placed fourth overall.
 
Competition team members included Eighth Graders: Jenny Chu, Anusha Chowdhary, Leila Hulme, Shreya Kirumaki, Kaitlyn Ouyang, Ira Sirohi, Christina Zhu; Seventh Graders: Kavya Chava, Michelle Cheng, Aashu Shankar, Sophia Zhou; and Sixth Grader Deetya Dinesh.
