Seventh Grade Field Trips

Seventh Grade Social Impact Field Trip
On Friday, March 22, seventh graders will enjoy a social impact field trip day. They will depart campus shortly after 8:00 am and return in time for regular afternoon carpool pick-up. Students should bring a nut-free sack lunch and reusable water bottle. Students should wear a Hockaday t-shirt (including any Benefit Hockaday t-shirt) with jeans, leggings, or PE-approved sweatpants and sneakers; clothes should be appropriate for outdoor work. Students will engage in their theme of food insecurity by visiting Paul Quinn College’s ‘We over Me Farm’ and ’Joppy Momma’s Farm.’ Students have been given a Field Trip Information Sheet to bring home with additional details.

Seventh Grade Field Trip to UT Dallas
On Thursday, April 4, seventh graders will visit The University of Texas at Dallas’ Wind Energy Center to complement their Wind Energy Unit in science class. They will depart campus shortly after 8:00 am and return around 1:30 p.m., at which time the classes will enjoy a presentation on the upcoming eclipse from visiting Carnegie Institute astronomers. At UT Dallas, students will explore the wind tunnel and related facilities and engage in hands-on activities in the lab. Students should bring a sealed water bottle and wear their Dress Uniform. Students will be given a Field Trip Information Sheet to bring home with additional details.
