Student Spends Summer Studying Radiation Therapy

This summer, Haley M. (Class of 2027) completed a research internship at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she contributed to clinical trials in radiation oncology.
She worked alongside renowned physicians and researchers studying innovative radiation therapy approaches for head and neck and breast cancer patients. Haley designed patient-friendly educational materials, created visual diagrams to explain treatment plans, and studied how different radiation techniques improve cancer care. She gained valuable experience through patient interactions in the clinic. Her internship gave her firsthand insight into the intersection of patient care and clinical research, further inspiring her interest in pursuing medicine.
