A Note from Mrs. Christenson

As we enter this festive season, we are grateful for the joy and generosity our students bring to our community each day. To ensure all students feel included and supported, we kindly ask for your partnership in upholding our Middle School policy that students do not exchange gifts at school, including “Secret Santa” or “Secret Snowflake” exchanges within advisory or friend groups.

While these traditions can be fun, they can also create unintended pressure, feelings of exclusion, and added financial strain during an already busy time of year. Thank you for reinforcing this expectation at home and for discussing with your daughter why we prioritize kindness, community, and inclusivity. We appreciate your support in helping us keep this season joyful, welcoming, and equitable for all students.

Finally, I want to extend my deepest thanks to each Middle School family for entrusting Hockaday with the important work of educating your daughters. It is an incredible privilege to serve this wonderful community, and I am continually inspired by the energy and joy your daughters bring to our school each day. Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and restful Thanksgiving holiday.
