Leslie Crozier '75 Awarded Hockaday Medal
In 1977, the Hockaday Alumnae Association instituted the Hockaday Medal Award to honor former students of the School who have shown excellence in their chosen fields of endeavor and have demonstrated their loyalty and support of Hockaday. The Hockaday Medal Award recipient exemplifies the Hockaday Cornerstones: Character, Courtesy, Scholarship, and Athletics. She serves as a role model to the students and the alumnae of Hockaday as well as to all women as they strive to achieve their goals. This award is the highest honor the Alumnae Association may bestow upon an alumna.
Leslie Crozier is a fourth-generation Dallasite whose early years were defined by competitive swimming. While attending Hockaday, she trained two hours each morning with the SMU men’s swim team before school and another two hours after. A nationally ranked swimmer, she represented the United States in international meets and narrowly missed qualifying for the U.S. Olympic Team in the 200-meter backstroke. Leslie served as Senior Class President for the Class of 1975.
After graduating Hockaday, Leslie attended Stanford University, where she served as Senior Class President and earned a degree in Economics and Finance. She began her career on Wall Street with Shearson Lehman/American Express, working in tax shelter syndications. As one of the firm’s youngest associates, she helped structure and syndicate more than $400 million in tax-advantaged investments. After several years in New York City, she returned to Dallas, earned her MBA in Real Estate and Finance from Southern Methodist University, and again served as Class President.
In 1999, Leslie co-founded Crozier and Henderson Productions, Inc. and Hot On Homes with Clint Henderson. As early innovators in new home marketing, they combined prime-time television, streaming video, and digital strategies to transform how homes are marketed in the U.S. Hot On Homes produced more than 3,000 television episodes aired on major networks. Leslie retired in 2019 and takes pride in the company’s lasting impact.
A dedicated philanthropist, Leslie has supported numerous organizations, including Special Olympics Texas, Kick Drugs Out of America with Chuck Norris, Bryan’s House, SMU Catholic Campus Ministries, Pegasus Aquatics, and The Dallas Cowboys Alumni Dinner.
Her current passion is brain health. After her mother’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2017, Leslie founded Triumph Over Alzheimer’s to support research and prevention. Through forums and fundraising events, her organization has raised significant funds benefiting research at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Harvard University.
Today, Leslie continues her philanthropic work while enjoying travel and time with family and lifelong Hockaday friends, who remain among her closest confidantes.
