Middle School Fine Arts Spotlight
We are excited to spotlight some of our new Fine Arts course updates in Daisy News this year. This week, we will focus on MS Film!
We have four new courses (grades 5–8) in MS Film, progressing students through digital art, animation, filmmaking, and documentary storytelling. Using industry-standard tools such as Procreate and Adobe Premiere Pro, students develop creative and technical skills while creating original projects.
- In 5th grade's Digital Imaging with Procreate, students explore digital art and design to build a foundation for animation, filmmaking, and visual storytelling.
- 6th Grade's Moving Image with Procreate teaches students to bring their artwork to life through animation and visual storytelling. They explore character design, motion, and digital media while developing creative thinking, collaboration, and foundational animation skills.
- In Live-Action Filmmaking with Adobe Premiere Pro, 7th grade students learn the filmmaking process from concept to final edit. Exploring camera work, lighting, sound, green screen, storyboarding, and editing in Adobe Premiere, they collaborate to create an original silent film.
- In the culminating course of the series, 8th Grade's: Documentary Filmmaking with Adobe Premiere Pro, students research, interview, film, and edit a documentary that tells a real-world story from within the Hockaday community.
