19 Students Named National Merit Commended Scholars
Hockaday proudly recognizes the 19 students from the Class of 2027 who have been selected as Commended Students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship program.
These students are among 34,000 high schoolers recognized throughout the nation as part of the top 50,000 scoring students who entered the competition by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
The Commended Scholars are: Aiza Ali, Emily Blumenthal, Anne Case, Thandiswa Chisango, Lauren Haas, Lily Haspel, Varsha Jagarlamudi, Bailey Kidwell, Sudha Kodem, Elizabeth Kondev, Katherine Ma, Emily Meyer, Annabel Monteiro, Reagan Nguyen, Naisha Randhar, Sophia Shi, Ira Sirohi, Aneeka Tansen, and Saachi Vyas.
