Game Highlights

This was a great effort by the 81s. Against a talented Greenhill team, Hockaday played well enough to win but could not get a shot to drop in the last 30 seconds. We jumped out to an 8-4 lead after the first quarter by playing good help defense and capitalizing on our size advantage on offense. Megan Bolden handled the ball expertly against the press and created many scoring opportunities by penetrating and dishing. Greenhill tied the game by halftime, and the game remained tied after three quarters. Rozzie Killingstad hit a 3 pointer early in the fourth quarter to give the 81s a three point lead. From then on, the game went back and forth, with Hockadya hitting a huge basket with less than a minute remaining to take a one point lead. After Greenhill regained the lead, Hockaday had several opportunities to hit a game winner but came up just short. Leading scorers for Hockaday were Kylie Guthrie with 10 points, Killingstad with five, Taylor Dilbeck and Arden Youngblood with four each. It was a super effort considering the team lost by double figures in their first contest with Greenhill early in the season.
