Game Highlights

On a very windy day, Greenhill started the game strong in the first and second innings scoring five runs in the first and three in the second. They held Hockaday to no runs until the third inning, when Mary Spence and Alicia Crook (courtesy runner for Lauren Callahan), ran home after a terrific double from Lauren Callahan. Callahan also came up big with strong pitching in the bottom of the third striking out the first three batters. She then struck out the first two of the fourth inning and Hockaday's defense held Greenhill to only one run. Carol Logan had solid base running to score a run after a huge hit from seventh grader Margaret Rote. The RBI brought Hockaday within striking distance to go for the win. Unfortunately, our comeback was stalled when we ran out of time. Much appreciation goes to seventh graders Natalie Lahutsky, Margaret Rote, Tory Tarpley, and Alicia Crook who stayed after their game on Friday for a double header to help out the eighth grade team!
