The Cum Laude Society, founded in 1906, is dedicated to honoring scholastic achievement in secondary schools.  The founders of the society modeled Cum Laude after Phi Beta Kappa, and since its founding, Cum Laude has grown to 382 chapters at schools in the United States and around the world.  In 1946, Hockaday was granted its Cum Laude charter, and these students are joining a legacy of students who have received this distinction.
