A Message from Laura Day

As we embarked on our 4th annual Day of Service, I was so proud of our continued commitment to encourage our students to find purpose and make an impact on their community. Our mission yesterday was to learn about our neighbors, to increase our appreciation of stories that are different from our own, and to work together to serve the larger community around us. Over 1500 students, faculty, and staff members learned about - and worked on projects dealing with - such issues as childhood hunger, literacy, and service animals. I know every member of our Hockaday community walked away from this Day of Service with more insight, more compassion, and the pride that comes from knowing they made a difference.
