Guidelines for Jewelry, Make-up, Nail Polish, and Hair Accessories

Parents,
Please help your daughters adhere to the following jewelry, make-up, nail polish, and hair accessories guidelines in the Parent/Student Handbook.

Jewelry
  • simple wrist watch (small 1-1/4” face, no bulky, elaborate multi-function watches, please) (no other wrist jewelry permissible)
  • small religious necklace or Hockaday medallion on a thin chain
  • smallplain balls (gold, silver) (no pearls, rhinestones, or other shapes, please!) for pierced ears (limited to one earring in each ear). 
  • Hockaday Fourth Grade Pin (for fourth graders only)
Make-up, Nail Polish, and Hair Accessories
  • no make-up, lip gloss (including Chapstick), temporary tattoos, or henna decorations for Lower School students
  • no nail polish of any kind (including French manicures) for students in PK through grade 4
  • small to moderate size hair bows, headbands, and hair clips in any color are acceptable. Green or white hair accessories are required for special programs. No tiaras, please.
