In Upper School Environmental Chemistry, students conduct field research to design a solution to an environmental problem by applying chemistry knowledge.

Seniors in Breaking the Glass Ceiling presented their final product pitches in front of a panel of judges to compete for funding for their startup idea. 

Biology and the Zoo is an Upper School Social Impact Science class, where students collaborate and apply design thinking to solve environmental issues in partnership with experts from the Dallas Zoo. 

Students in Upper School Statistics, a Social Impact-designated class, have been working with Claire Noble ’16,  Dallas City Council Liaison for District 13, and City of Dallas Animal Services to look at ways to solve issues with loose animals around the city.

Care for Cancer, an Upper School Social Impact club, delivered more than 460 children’s books to Children’s Dallas Specialty Center and helped one of their leading pediatric pulmonologists build a library for the Center.

Aurora Dunn (Class of 2023) works with Honor Flight Network, a national nonprofit organization honoring our nation’s veterans of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War by bringing them to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built to commemorate their service and sacrifice.

Students in Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Economics and Social Entrepreneurship, a Social Impact-designated class, visited Howdy Homemade Ice Cream recently to hear from founder Tom Landis. 

Zoya Haq (Class of 2023) was named a Prudential Emerging Visionary, one of only 25 students nationwide recognized for their inspiring commitment to improving the lives of others.

In January, Middle and Upper School students participated in an Impact-a-Thon. 

Upper School Orchestra members prepared music to help students at David G. Burnet Elementary learn Texas history. 

Students in an Upper School History Course Learn How Personal Interpretations Provide a Window Into the Past

Students from Hockaday and St. Mark’s School of Texas continued a longstanding partnership this spring to construct their 16th home with Habitat for Humanity.
