Halloween Parties

Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth grade Halloween parties will take place on Friday, October 31, from 2:45-3:25 pm. Treats will be provided by HPA parent Halloween Party volunteers. Please note the costume guidelines for Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Grades:
  • Students are encouraged to make their costumes from materials that they already have at home.
  • Costumes that reflect creativity and originality are preferred and may reflect key characters from books, puns, expressions or word play, or key concepts from your classes.
  • Costumes should not include political slogans or language, and students should not be dressed as political figures.
  • Costumes should allow students to sit comfortably in class without distraction.
  • Costumes must be safe to move around school. No long, trailing costumes that could cause the wearer or another person to trip.
  • Real shoes need to be worn. No flip flops, platform shoes, or excessively high heels.
  • Headgear must not block the wearer’s or anyone else’s vision in the classroom.
  • Masks may not be worn and makeup/face paint should be minimal/limited. Students should be easily recognized.
  • Costumes that are violent in nature are not allowed, including dismembered body parts, fake blood, etc.
  • Length of costumes should fit within normal uniform guidelines for skirt lengths.
  • Accessories to costumes should be appropriate for school (no weapons, toy weapons, or props replicating weapons).
  • Students will be asked to dress out for normal PE, including socks and athletic shoes, so students should bring these items to school.
