Animal Lovers

Upper School Statistics students visited with First Graders this morning to share their data findings after working with Dallas Animal Shelters.
First Grade’s Social Impact theme is animals, so this Social Impact Statistics class is a perfect fit! Students learned about why animals go to shelters, what types of animals are most common, and other important statistics. Then, First Graders headed to a local animal shelter to practice their literacy skills by reading out loud to shelter animals! Studies have shown that reading to animals can lower their anxiety, which improves their demeanor and can lead to higher adoption rates!
