Learning About Food Insecurity Solutions

Dr. Michael Sorrell, president of Paul Quinn College, spoke to Third Graders this morning about We Over Me farm at Paul Quinn College.
The Third Grade Social Impact theme is Food Insecurity, and Dr. Sorrell discussed how he made the decision to turn the school’s football field into a community garden and eventually a working farm. The girls learned about how residents in Highland Hills lived closer to the dump than a grocery store, and how the farm is helping its neighbors have access to fresh, healthy food.
