Destanye Brooks (Class of 2016) Wins Award for Short Film

Destanye Brooks' (Class of 2016) short film, “In the Driver’s Seat,” was awarded second place in the inaugural NTARuPT Student Film Contest on Sunday at the Angelika Theatre.
 
Destanye’s short film will be shared with the greater community to raise awareness and start a dialogue about teens and sex.
 
NTARuPT is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that seeks to improve the quality of life for children, families, and communities by reducing teen pregnancies in North Texas. Its vision is for every young person in our community to have the opportunity to set goals, plan education and careers, and become self-sufficient before entering into parenthood.
